Magic Wheels Inc, Seattle, has appointed Phil Baechler
as its new CEO. In his new role Baechler will be in charge of raising
awareness of MAGICWHEELS™, a two-gear wheelchair drive system. A
company press release claims that recent clinical studies show that
immediate and prolonged use of MAGICWHEELS™ reduces chronic shoulder
pain while increasing mobility and independence. “Phil brings a wealth
of expertise and knowledge, plus terrific enthusiasm, to our business
activities and leadership team,” says Allan Boyd, vice
president of Magic Wheels Inc. “Coming to us from his success at The
Baby Jogger Company, Mr. Baechler has keen insight into our marketing
needs. Having him on the ground in Seattle, where the company is
headquartered, will further develop our marketing program and enhance
customer service.”
As founder, principal, and vice president of marketing of the Baby
Jogger Company from 1992 to 2003, Baechler designed and developed
various new products and mechanical innovations relevant to the
two-gear system behind MAGICWHEELS. The two-gear wheelchair drive
requires no battery or motor and provides a two-speed drive, comprised
of a high technology mechanism consisting of more than 250
parts—including an automatic hill-holding feature, in addition to a
downhill assisted braking.
